Questions

Questions about working with a flat-fee firm

How do I get a quote?

Send a few lines through the contact form or book a free 30-minute video call. We reply with a written quote, usually within two business days.

When are you my lawyers?

Once we’ve both signed an engagement letter. Until then, nothing you send creates an attorney-client relationship, so please keep confidential details out of the form.

Do I need to be in Austin?

No. We meet by video and sign electronically, with clients across the state. The office is there if you’d like to meet in person.

What does a flat fee include?

Everything listed in the quote’s scope. What isn’t included is listed too, along with any outside costs.

Do you ever bill hourly?

Only if you ask us to, for work that can’t be scoped, and then we agree a cap in writing first.

What are outside costs?

Government filing fees, registered agent service, lien searches and similar charges from third parties. We pass them through at cost.

How fast is a contract review?

Most come back within five business days of the quote being accepted. Rush reviews are quoted separately.

Will I see what you changed?

Yes. Every document comes back with tracked changes and a note on each one, so you can follow the reasoning.

Do you handle lawsuits?

We handle demand letters and settlements. If a matter is heading to court, we refer you to trial counsel and keep helping on the business side.

Still deciding?

A free 30-minute video call is the quickest way to find out if we’re the right fit.

The first call is free and doesn’t make us your lawyers; an engagement letter does.
